Ban Saladan Beach

Saladan is the biggest hub or town on Koh Lanta. Boasting a large variety of restaurants, souvenir shops, dive shops, banks, food stalls and a lively night market Saladan is a popular place to stay as it has so many amenities.

Saladan is famous for its restaurants as most of them are built on stilts over the water giving way to spectacular views while dining anytime of the day. The small but stunning beach on the end of the road is a perfect spot for sunset as you see Lanta Noi across the bay and an undisturbed view of the Andaman Sea.

Definitely have a look into the restaurant guide for Saladan as there are so many options available, you don’t want to miss out!

Kaw Kwang Beach

Kaw Kwang Beach is located on the north end of Koh Lanta and conveniently close to Saladan Pier and Town. Although Kaw Kwang is close to all the action of Saladan, it is still very quiet and less populated than it’s neighboring beach, Klong Dao.

Kaw Kwang does have some resorts and restaurants that rest just past the beach under the trees but the beach still has a great secluded feeling. Kaw Kwang and Klong Dao are connected so it’s a perfect area for a nice long beach walk to find loads of options for food, drink, and accommodation. One of the best parts of Kaw Kwang is the very gentle slope into the sea. This beach is ideal for small children as the water is quite shallow with no rocks and easy to play in as there are rarely any waves, especially in high season.
Be sure to check out the bars and restaurants section for not only Kaw Kwang but Klong Dao as well.

You can enjoy the peace and quiet of Kaw Kwang but the perks of options to eat and drink on Klong Dao. Everything is just a stroll down the beach.

Klong Dao Beach

One of the most popular beaches on the island, Klong Dao stretches over 2.5 kilometers of beautiful bay that curves to the south with rocks and heavy vegetation closing it off to the beginning of Long Beach. To the south you can also take amazing pictures of long tails boats coming in after a day of fishing.

To the north, Klong Dao connects with Kaw Kwang beach which also curves so the two beaches make a long curved bay. Not only is this a stunning bay but also lends to very calm and shallow waters perfect for families and pure relaxation.

Klong Dao is filled with wonderful bars and restaurants, and lots of accommodation for any budget. Klong Dao is considered best for families so most restaurants and bars close fairly early, but check out the bar and restaurant guide for the best place for a fire show on Klong Dao and where you can get a late night drink plus much more.

Long Beach

Properly named, Long beach stretches beautifully along 4 kilometers of the Andaman Sea and is one of the most popular beaches on Koh Lanta. Although the beach has many bars and restaurants and accommodations to choose from, all of structures are under the beautiful tall pine tree line which makes Long Beach feel open and never too busy, even in the highest point of the season.

There is also a park in the middle of Long Beach filled with trees to rest when the sun is getting too hot.

This popular beach is also perfect for swimming as the water slopes quickly and the clear water is so refreshing on a warm day. Check out the restaurant and bar guide for the most popular beach’s food, drink and beach party options.

Klong Khong Beach

Located in the middle of the island, Klong Khong is over 3 kilometers of easy going beach atmosphere by day. By night, this beautiful beach comes alive with popular beach bars partying into the early hours of the morning.

Klong Khong is known for its budget friendly family owned accommodations which makes it a bit cheaper to stay on this beach than some of the other beaches on Lanta.

This beach also has a bit more rocks than other beaches which lends it to be a bit cheaper but this does not take away from the palm tree lined stunning beach and all the great bars and sunset spots it has to offer. Check the restaurant and bar guide for details.

Klong Nin Beach

Stretching over 2 kilometers, Klong Nin is a stunning beach perfect for swimming, taking a stroll, or enjoying any of the many bars and restaurants on the beachfront. See the list of great bars and restaurants in the guide section, but notably one of the oldest bars is Otto bar, and great to check out all the beautiful wooden tables and even the massive skeleton above the bar!

The beauty of Klong Nin is not only the beautiful beach, but look towards the east of the island and your surrounded by picturesque tropical mountains and lush greenery.

Klong Nin is a swimmer’s beach as the water slopes quickly and rocks aren’t too abundant. Klong Nin also has accommodation suited for any budget or any size group, it’s easy going atmosphere is absolutely perfect spot for any holiday.

Kantiang Beach

Kantiang Bay stretches about 2 km on the southwest side of the island. With the natural beauty of the tropical forests and clifftop hills surrounding the white sand beach, this relaxed area is a bit more quiet than the beaches to it’s north.

Kantiang Bay has a handful of resorts including the 5 star famous Pimalai Resort and more budget friendly family owned properties, but the resorts are spread out and give Kantiang Bay a more authentic oasis vibe. The rising hills on both ends of the Bay also lend to that peaceful tropical feeling.

Take a peek at the restaurant and bar guide for great places to eat and drink on this stunning bay.

National Park Beach

A scenic and slightly adventurous way to spend an afternoon on Koh Lanta would be to hop on a scooter and head south down to the National Park. The National Park actually extends onto many of the small islands surrounding Lanta Yai, but the southern tip of the island consisting of two beaches, a hiking trail, a lighthouse, and many frisky monkeys are also apart of this marine sanctuary.

Before and after the small hike up to the lighthouse to the right and to the left are the two very different but beautiful beaches of the National Park. The first beach is a bit rocky for swimming but teaming with marine life. Have a wander through the rock pools and see all the small ecosystems thriving.

After the lighthouse is the second beach, much more swimming friendly and boasts crystal clear water, but watch out for the monkeys! Make sure you don’t have any foods or anything of importance in your bag as they are some curious and hungry monkeys.
